The tags or categories we define here and use on this site are intended to be usable anywhere on the web, completely out of context, and still be understandable. These are a standard taxonomy or glossary of web art terms that can be used in del.icio.us, technorati.com, digg.com, wordpress.com or wherever. You can click on ony of the category titles to see web sites we have categorized under that title.

Web-Art: a web site that is a work of art. contains visual, aural, verbal material

Web-Art-Blog: a blog where each of the posts is a work of web-art.

Web-Art-Instrument: music boxes, graphics generators, web pages used to create works of art that are in themselves interesting experience

Web-Art-Gallery: a web site that has collections or exhibitions of web-art

Web-Art-Dealer: a web site that buys and sells web-art, but not deviantART or any site that sells paper or traditional art media.

Web-Art-Portal: a web site with numerous links to web-art and web-art-oriented web sites.

Where does www.artofthenet.com fit in? This site is a blog that happens to be about web-art.
